Ten Thousand Hours: A blog about Reading, Work, and Process
Ten thousand hours is the amount of time Malcolm Gladwell states in his book Outliers: The Story of Success it takes to obtain mastery in a pursued field of study. Trouble is, I don’t know what I want to be a master of. Sure, I have some ideas: a hazy combination of community organizer, educator, and multi-media storyteller. But what if my field of study lacks a defining name? Join me on my journey as I try to master an unnamed profession.
Why am I blogging? 1.) To become a better writer and thinker 2.) to catalogue my TOIL 3.) share what I am doing
In my quest for 10,000 hours, I focus on four themes:
Community Education: Exploring education outside the classroom
DrawCorps: Exercising the core muscles of creative problem solving
Storytelling: Telling stories through film, animation, comics and more
Awareness: Being present in our world
